Gentle Sedation Options

So Your Child Can Receive Dental Care Comfortably

Whether your child feels nervous, fearful, or needs more involved treatment, we offer safe, carefully monitored sedation options to help them relax — and

help you feel confident.

If your child feels anxious about the dentist, you’re not alone.

Many children feel nervous, fearful, or overwhelmed during dental visits. Some are simply too young to sit comfortably through treatment. Others may need more extensive care.

Our goal is simple:

To help your child receive the care they need in the calmest, safest, most comfortable way possible.

We offer three levels of sedation, depending on your child’s needs.

Our goal is simple:

We offer three levels of sedation, depending on your child’s needs.

The Three Levels

of Sedation

We’ll recommend the option that keeps your child the most calm, safe, and comfortable based on their age, health, and treatment needs

Level 1

Nitrous Oxide (Laughing Gas)

  • Best for: Mild nervousness or anxiety

  • Helps your child relax while remaining awake

  • Safe and commonly used for children

  • Wears off quickly after the appointment

  • Your child can return to normal activities the same day

This is often perfect for children who just need a little help feeling calm.

Level 2

Oral Sedation

  • Best for: Moderate anxiety or longer appointments

  • A small dose of medication helps your child feel very relaxed and sleepy

  • Your child remains conscious but comfortable

  • Little to no memory of the procedure

  • Allows us to complete treatment safely and efficiently

This option helps children who may struggle sitting through treatment.

Level 3

General Anesthesia

  • Best for: Extensive treatment, very young children, or severe anxiety

  • Your child sleeps completely through the procedure

  • No pain, fear, or memory of treatment

  • Monitored continuously by trained medical professionals

  • Allows all treatment to be completed in one visit

This option is often recommended when it’s the safest and least stressful choice for your child.
